A Job Welldone
Dear Sir,
I am a Sarawakian domicile in Miri. I would to put in record someone from your Ministry who had done, in my opinion, some deed which deserved an accolade.. I brought this issue up to your kind notice because I don't want kind and helpful men and woman went unnoticed.
My son, Dr Wong Choc Ky, currently attached to Likas Hospital as a houseman, went to 1-Borneo on 13th December, 2009, where he was lured and enticed by a group of sales personnels of Aowa (under the registered name of Flameless Concept (Borneo) Sdn Bhd. Address: Lot 5, Lorong Suria, Taman Perindustrian Suria, Jalan Kolombong, 88450 Kota Kinabalu. Tel: 088-425088. Fax: 088-425033), into signing CIMB MasterCard amounting to RM1800, and MayBank Debit Card RM998 to buy an induction cooker, with free gifts like cooker set, pressure and blender, only to realize that these items were not worth the money. So he refused to take ANY items and demanded an immediate refund of the money RM2798, which Aowa refused.
On 15th December, 2009, he told me about the incident. I called PA Pengarah of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs, Kota Kinabalu (Tel: 088-484500), Madam Lincia, who kindly directed one of her subordinates Encik Kamil to deal with the case. My son was only able to meet Encik Kamil on 4th January, 2010, as he works from 6am to 6pm every day..
Someone from the Ministry went to meet one of the staff of Aowa, who then called me, but refused to identify herself (no matter how I asked her to do so). I was very annoyed about her insincerely in dealing with the case particularly on the refund of the money.
And it was the ministry people: Madam Lincia, En Mohd Yussof Bin Mohd Tair, En Kamil from your Sabah branch, who helped to deal with the issue. I am most impressed by the pleasant, friendly approach shown by them. They handled the issue profesionally with any let and hindrance. Among them, I owe greatly to En Yussof who had untiringly pursued to the root. His professionalism and personality shown is by today's standard, rare and far in between.
Though now, I don't get back all my money (RM2238 out of RM2798), It is still better than a whitewash. I feel much indebted to these people who displayed shiny example of unselflessness and help without boundary. These exemplary and unparalleled assistance should be accorded credit, and I am impressed, though many complaints were aired about public services, this stood out unique and in high profile that not everyone should be treated the same.
Thank you, Sir, for leading a department which raykat can place their trust. I sincerely hope with your leadership and that of Tuan Jaafar of KK branch, your super-ordinate goals would be met and bring the department to greater heights.
Respectfully yours,
Wong Hin Min
Miri, Sarawak.
